Background
The branding developed and established by Bruce Mau Design had been in use by Regent Park School of Music for several years but its use amongst their marketing collateral had not been standardized. With the lack of consistency, the client felt that the beauty of the brand was getting lost. I was approached by Regent Park School of Music to give their communications and marketing collateral a more cohesive look.
The most important element we wanted to express was joy to communicate and celebrate the impact of the school’s mission and contributions made by donors and volunteers. As a result the bold graphics became less prominent and elements were teased out to complement the feeling of music, movement, and fun.
Collaborating with the Foundation, I established preferred ways to use the branding, then created a Visual Standards Guide for the staff to ensure the style is consistent and preserved.
Along with the necessary marketing and communications pieces to be designed, I then systematically developed Word and Powerpoint-based templates to use in-house for forms, invitations, posters, programs, and certificates so the client had the autonomy to quickly produce their own materials while I continued to design their program guides, annual reports.
Outcome
The result is a more unified look across all materials that is simple to implement and recognizable as the RPSM brand.
